A metal SMT nut or a moisture-barrier bag does not by itself establish MSL 1. Request the applicable document, revision, classified object and test criteria. Storage, oxidation control and soldering requirements need separate evidence.
Identify the classified object
The public J-STD-020E contents include non-IC package provisions. The E text hosted by TI assigns responsibility for appropriate failure criteria when procedures are used for non-IC packages. This is explicitly a discussion of that revision, not a claim that E is the latest or that Hongchuan nuts have a rating.
Separate label fields
Nordic lists MSL, peak package temperature, floor life, storage and seal date separately. Those semiconductor-label definitions illustrate evidence fields; they are not nut specifications. A bag or seal date does not establish completed classification.
Write an honest purchasing requirement
Identify the nut and drawing revision and request applicable classification evidence. If absent, record that fact and agree packaging, temperature in degrees Celsius, humidity in percent RH and exposure duration with a defined starting point. Do not silently substitute a rating.
Do not copy an IC bake profile
The body, finish, tape and reel can have different thermal limits. Obtain approved conditions for the actual component and packaging before baking. Keep solderability and surface-condition evidence associated with the delivered lot.
